- Samantha, Development Coordinator & Board Member

Let’s get to know her a bit better….

Q: So, samantha what is your role with NoStigmas?
A: I have been fortunate to grow in working with NoStigmas from a Team Member, to Development Coordinator, and now a Board Member.

Q: How long have you been with NoStigmas?

A: Since 2006

Q: What motivates your work with NoStigmas?

A: I am motivated to work with NoStigmas because of our mission. When we collaborate with volunteers throughout the country, we have the ability to create a collective impact on prevention, treatment, and recovery resources. As a team, we have the ability to promote brain health and overall wellness, which starts with eradicating stigmas.

Q: How do you practice self care?

A: I practice self-care through connecting with my support team, taking long walks in the quiet of nature, and by focusing on specific nutrients that fuel my body. My structured support system has helped to keep me motivated, which includes specific friends/family, my fitness coaches, and the NoStigmas family. I also find motivation by being a 5 Bridges Wellness Coach, because I gain strength from giving to others.
Q: What are you grateful for?

A: I am grateful for the supports that ground me.

Q: What was your mental health “aha” moment?

A: When I finally started following a consistent wellness plan, my body and mind felt clear.

Q: What advice would you give your younger self about mental health?

A: Your mind and body are not apologies.

Q: Do you have any new hobbies these days?

A: I am always striving to learn new things. I love to cook, and this year I have learned to create fun, tasty plant-based recipes. I also started practicing yoga.

Q: How can we all connect with you?
