Our Youth(th) Matter Workshop focuses on and trains advocates in mental health issues specific to teens and young adults, including how their issues differ from other age groups.

The workshop is divided into three categories.

  1. First, we educate on identifying signs and symptoms of mental health challenges including behavioral shifts, physical effects, and distorted thinking.

  2. Next, we discuss tools and tactics to help such as staying solution-focused, starting with one person, and not being overwhelmed by any pressure to help a whole community at one time. We also reinforce helpful responses such as listening, being judgement free, encouraging professional help, etc.

  3. Lastly, we educate on how mentors and Allies can take positive action through self-care, peer support, advocacy, using non-stigmatizing language, and partnering with NoStigmas.
